The National Development Plan-Vision 2030 is the plan by South African government to develop the nation and improve the quality of life of every citizens in a country challenged by extreme poverty, economic recessions, past inequalities, etc. When the plan was presented to the nation in 2013, there was a call for sectors and organisations to collaborate with government to make Vision 2030 a reality. Literature shows that increased access to information and knowledge is one of the essential pillars for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, UN Vision 2030 and AU Agenda 2063. The paper will examine each of the nine NDP-Vision 2030 goals and recommend how libraries can collaborate with South African government and contribute towards their achievement. The unique and developing role libraries continue to play should not be overlooked. The LIS sector should now heed the call by IFLA and position itself as an indispensable link to the successful implementation of Vision 2030.
