Shirlene Neerputh is the Director: Library services at the University of the Western Cape. Her career spans 30 years of higher education professional experience. She is currently the Chair-Elect for the LIASA National Higher Education Libraries Interest Group (HELIG). She serves on the LIASA Professional Body Board, is a Council Member of the South African Society for the Blind, Chelsa, and also a member of the International Association of technologies in University Libraries. Shirlene was awarded the Scholarship Training and Methodology Skills for Managers in India, Carnegie Library Leadership Programme (University of Pretoria), and European Erasmus Staff Mobility Scholarship, University of Split, Croatia 2016. She completed the Nuffic Doctoral Supervision Leadership and Management Certificate. Shirlene’s passion lies infusing the Library Services in academia to be responsive, innovative and connected to student success.
