Applications are invited for the 2nd Digitisation Training Workshop, 2015 hosted by the Information Training and Outreach Centre for Africa together with the University of Pretoria Library.
Digitisation projects are quite complex and require an exceptional blend of skills and knowledge ranging from project management proficiency to specialist technical expertise. The Digitisation course intends to impart the relevant skills and knowledge from the beginning to the end of a digitisation project.
The overall objective is for trainees to have an appreciation and understanding of the whole digitisation process, with the most important activities in a digitisation project being the conversion of material into digital format and metadata creation.
With this workshop, participants will be equipped with an understanding of technical theory as well as practical.
