The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) will host the Copyright Amendment Bill Conference to be held in Gauteng on 27 August 2015 at a venue to be confirmed. The Conference aims to articulate the proposals made in the Copyright Amendment Bill and their context, and solicit broader inputs from experts and those with experience in this area.

Topics will cover collective management of Copyright, minimum contracts, commercial re-use of creative works and many other important discussions. The event targets interested persons involved in the creative industries, indigenous knowledge and intellectual property related industries, including musicians, writers, producers, authors, actors, teachers, people with disabilities, librarians, NGO’s, visual artists, photographers, broadcasters, ICT, collecting societies, academics, attorneys, government institutions and agencies working with copyright.
