I have received this news with shock and sadness. Mrs Raziya was a kind soul who always had time for all of us as the library and information science students at the then University of Transkei (now part of WSU). I worked under her guidance and others as a student assistant from 2000 to 2001. Our deepest condolences indeed to this daughter of the soil. Please convey our heartfelt condolences to the family, library fraternity in the Eastern Cape and WSU

May her soul rest in eternal peace!

Sad news indeed. She debunked myths about librarianship- she made it fashionable and attractive to the youth.

Sad news and unbelievable. I have worked with MaRaziya as my line manager at the University of Transkei currently known as Walter Sisulu University. She was always active, smiling and hardworking woman. Always remembering us as her subordinates you know what “I was a Professional nurse that is why I’m so active and a hard worker”. We will miss you mama with your jokes.
Our deepest condolences to the Raziya family. May her soul rest in peace.

We are never ready to say goodbye forever even though we know it is a part of life.
The wisdom and guidance that she gave us in 2000-2001 not only in the profession but life skills are embedded in our minds and hearts.
My heart is heavy for losing someone so special, but as we mourn her death, we also celebrate her life as a librarian.
Rest in peace
