Masiphumelele Public Library (Cape Town, South Africa) presented a poster at the first-ever AfLIA conference, in Accra, Ghana, at the weekend. The poster shows how the library contributes to community development by supporting education of children and adults; and offering free ICT access, skills training and careers counselling for young job seekers.
Over 150 librarians and library leaders, representatives of development agencies and government officials from 25 countries attended the AfLIA opening ceremony on Saturday.
AfLIA is short for African Library Associations & Institutions. EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) team members and grantees are presenting papers at the conference, which ends on Tuesday. Read more: http://bit.ly/1JAG7Ij
