  • Major accomplishments

–        2006 I was part of the team who establish a school library at Siyakhula Primary

–        2007 I joined LIASA and I received a grant to attend IFLA conference that was held in Durban. One of my school library monitors managed to be accepted at Oprah Winfrey Academy for girls she is studying Political Science in USA

–        2008 I was the 1st Runner Up Teacher of The Year for PENREACH in school library development and management

–        2009 I received an award for the most improved teacher librarian and the most improved school library in Mpumalanga.

–        2010 I established a school library at Umsebe Primary School. And managed to get donations for library furniture and library resources.

–        2011 Because of being a LIASA member I received a grant to attend IASL (International Associations of School Librarianship) conference that was held in Jamaica, Kingston and I was given a chance to present a paper on how I managed to establish 2 school libraries in Mpumalanga.

–        2012 Umsebe school library was the most improved school library in Gert Sibande District and we received R12 000 worth school library resources.

–        2014 I was promoted twice in one year from a teacher librarian to district librarian and from district librarian to Senior Education Specialist-SLIS Mpumalanga Gert Sibande District provide support and monitor school libraries. They gave me 7 circuits consists of 239 schools, only 25 schools have functional school libraries (Model C schools). When I do my school visits I found that 90% of primary schools do not have libraries but they have classrooms that can be converted into library. With the assistance of Biblionef, Rotary Club Middleburg, Vodacom and Telkom Foundation, we managed to assist 123 schools to establish and setup school libraries

–        To date I managed to assist 180 schools to establish and set up school libraries
