LIASA to use SMS as a communciation tool with members
|
LIASA is exploring the use of SMS as one of our means of communicating to members, as well as making it easier for members to communicate with us, particularly those who do not have access to the internet.
The reasoning behind using SMS is that most members have cellphones, but not all members have easy access to email and the internet. The intention is to send out occasional SMSs on behalf of the LIASA, the branches and interest groups which could be messages related to reminders about events, renewing membership, and so on. These messages will be limited to LIASA business only.
It is possible to reply to the SMS (at normal SMS rates for your own account).
