which enabled a 3rd group of South African librarians to participate within the SALLP. The 8-week leadership training programme was held at the Mortenson Center for International Training Programs, University of Illinois, USA from 07 September to 06 November 2004. This programme also included LIS professionals from Colombia, Japan, Vietnam, Uganda and Kenya. Participants in this round of the SALLP were nominated and endorsed by the local LIASA Branch on the basis of their involvement in the branch either in committees, interest groups or the local conference arrangement committee.
