Time for Studies – working librarians studying at UWC

The UWC Department of Library & Information Science cordially invites you to a seminar presentation by Catherine WynSculley and Prof. Shirley Walters on the topic:

Time for Studies – working librarians studying at UWC

Catherine Wynsculley is the researcher who has just graduated with her Masters degree. Shirley Walters is founding director of the Division for Lifelong Learning and the project leader for the action research.

Working librarian students registered for a professional degree, who are also employed in public service, have hurdles to overcome with finding time for studies. This study describes and analyses working students’ use of time. The theory of ‘critical temporalities’ is used as the primary lens to describe and analyse working students’ experiences. The Masters research is located within a cross university action research project on flexible learning and teaching provision.
