Workshop – Services to Support Research Data Management

Services to Support Research Data Management

About the workshop

Many organisations which generate research data need to establish services to support research data management (RDM). It is necessary to address capabilities in terms of

·         RDM policy, strategy development, governance and sustainability,

·         data management support and staff development, and

·         research data storage, preservation and sharing.

This requires an understanding of research, research data and curation, a thorough situation analysis and a clear roadmap of how these services could be rendered.

The Network of Data & Information Curation Communities (NeDICC) is pleased to announce a workshop on Services to Support Research Data Management. Martie van Deventer (CSIR) and Lucia Lötter (HSRC) will be presenting information relevant to this topic and will assist attendees to assess institutional research data management support readiness, to develop institutional roadmaps and to identify the needs of institutions. There will also be an opportunity to provide input in terms of a roadmap for national RDM support.

Librarians, knowledge management workers, data curators, researchers and others interested are invited to register for this workshop.
