SCANUL-ECS Conference 2022: CALL FOR PAPERS
The Standing Conference of African National and University Librarians-Eastern, Central & Southern (SCANUL-ECS) would like to invite abstracts for the International Conference on Preservation of Our Cultural Heritage. This is a hybrid conference.
When: 03 October 2022 from 08h30
Where: Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre, Gauteng, South Africa.
Theme is “From the past into the future: sustainable preservation of our cultural heritage”. The conference seeks to critically explore ways that we can ensure sustainable preservation of our heritage in the context of grand challenges and rapidly evolving technological advancements. The papers are expected to cover the following subthemes:
- Sustainable preservation
- Indigenous knowledge management systems
- Policy, frameworks, models and processes
- Knowledge, skills and competencies
- Digitization
- Climate change
- Global disasters
- Post-COVID-19
- Equity, diversity, inclusivity and accessibility (EDIA)
- Open science
- Decolonization of knowledge
- Authentic collaborations and partnerships for preservation
- Technology and preservation
- Innovative technologies
- 4IR
- ‘Newer’ technologies
Abstracts submission guide:
- Abstracts should include title of the paper, name(s) of author(s), institutional affiliation, email address, introduction, purpose/objectives of the paper, methodology, findings, implications of the study, references (where applicable), must not exceed 300 words and 3-5 keywords.
- The Author should indicate the Theme under which the submission is made.
- Submissions should be in Arial, font size 12, 1.5 spacing on A4 portrait.
- Submissions should be made as Word Files.
Important Dates:
• Submission of Abstract by 15th July 2022 Extended to 25 July 2022
• Notice of acceptance by 31st July 2022
• Submission of full papers: 15 September 2022
• Notice of acceptance 30th September 2022
SCANUL-ECS plans to publish the conference proceedings in a peer review journal.
