About the Journal
The South African Journal of Libraries and Information Science (SAJLIS) is the official publication of the Library and Information Association of South Africa (LIASA). It is a full text, open access journal and accredited by the SA Dept. of Higher Education and Training. The journal seeks to embrace a wide range of practical and research components, including information and research literacy, information management, children's literature, ethics, globalisation, impact of the digital divide, technology, scholarly communication, open scholarship, indigenous knowledge systems, etc. The objective is to serve and reflect the interests of the South Africa LIS community across the spectrum of its wide-ranging activities and research.

Honoraria for SAJLIS reviewers
Annually five reviewers are selected for award of an honorarium for their reviewing for the South African Journal of Libraries and Information Science.
The selection was based on the following criteria:
- Number of review requests satisfied for the year
- Depth and quality of reviews
- Contribution to mentoring and development of authors of manuscripts requiring enhancement
- Timeous response to urgent requests from the journal
- Demonstration of leadership and expertise in a specific area of LIS
