The nomination of new LIASA candidates take place every third year. It is an electronic process coordinated by the appointed LIASA Electoral Officer. LIASA members are invited to nominate and vote for the following:
- LIASA President-Elect
- LIASA Sector Chairs
LIASA members are also invited to nominate for the following:
- LIASA additional Board Members
LIASA National ElectionsProcedure
In terms of Article 10 and Rule 4 of the LIASA Constitution, all paid-up individual members of the Association who are listed on the Voter’s Roll are invited to submit nominations for Office Bearers and Sector Chairs for the LIASA Board. The vacant office bearer position is that of:
- President Elect
The LIASA Sector Chairs represents the following sectors:
- Public and Community Libraries
- Academic and Research Libraries
- School Libraries
- Special Libraries
- LIS Education
In addition to the above, the LIASA Board also consists of four additional members which skills important to the functions of the Association. Nominations are therefore invited to fill these positions.
Rule 4.8 states that “Each nomination form must be submitted electronically to the Electoral Officer from two paid-up members, whose names shall be included on the nomination form. The nominee who accepts the nomination must do so electronically to the Electoral Officer. The nomination form must be accompanied by a brief curriculum vitae of the nominee, a brief election manifesto, a digital passport sized photograph of the nominee, and any other information the Electoral Officer might deem necessary.”
