Communication, connection and collaboration: social media at UP during the COVID pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has also impacted the marketing landscape. In this presentation, Elsabe Olivier will share some insights into the social media landscape at her institution, the Department of Library Services at the University of Pretoria.  She will describe how the social media team focused on client needs and explored a few new initiatives.  She will frankly detail what worked and what not and how they are readjusting their social media strategy for 2021. 

About Elsabe Olivier

Elsabé Olivier has 32 years’ experience in the academic library environment and is currently the Assistant Director of Marketing & Quality Assurance at the University of Pretoria’s Department of Library Services (DLS). Her aim is to promote the DLS products and services amongst the University of Pretoria’s students and staff, and to increase the visibility of this institution nationally. Elsabé served as a LIASA Gauteng North branch member from 2010 to 2012, she was the second national runner-up LIASA Librarian of the Year in 2011, and she served as the LIASA MAIG Chair from 2016 to 2018.
