HELIG COFFEE TALK #3: Re-imagining academic libraries through AI integration into support services

It is predicted that by 2025, AI and robots will dominate domestic jobs and in the media arena, “robots are already writing new articles” (Pew Research Centre, 2021).

Technological advancement provides academics the opportunity to facilitate innovative problem-based learning. Artificial Intelligence, ranked the most popular of the “Top 10 Technologies to learn in 2021", has the potential to complement Teaching and Learning activities, and support research at higher education institutions. Hence it calls for university libraries to re-imagine the learning experience through AI integration into support services. 

Join us on Friday, 18 March 2022 at 13:00 for an informal conversation online over coffee to share ideas on how best to integrate AI into academic library support services. The session will be facilitated by Dr. Kleinveldt, HELIG  Chair and academic at CPUT, and Ms Mofana, HELIG Secretary and librarian at IIE Vega.
