About the speaker
Tella Adeyinka is a Professor and Head of Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He was a visiting researcher to the Department of Information Science at the University of South Africa (UNISA) in Pretoria. From 2016 to 2019 Tella was a Research Fellow in the Department of Information Science at UNISA and again from 2021 to 2024. He enrolled in a Ph.D. programme at the University of Botswana through a Commonwealth Scholarship in October 2005 and finished in 2009. In 2015, 2017 and 2018 he won the Nigerian Library Association’s Dr TM Salishu Most Published Librarian Award, and in 2007 he was the winner of a small grant for thesis writing for Ph.D. students from the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA). Tella who is a C2 rated researcher of the National Research Foundation (NRF) of South Africa, has authored over 200 publications. These include articles in high-impact Web of Science / Scopus and Scimago rated journals, books and chapters in books.
