It's almost time for the Wikipedia#1lib1refinternational campaign where librarians across the world are challenged to add a good solid reference to where a citation is needed.

Twice per year, #1Lib1Ref — abbreviated for one librarian, one reference — calls on librarians around the world, and anyone who has a passion for free knowledge, to add missing references to articles on Wikipedia.  Any citation to a reliable source is a benefit to Wikipedia readers worldwide.

The #1Lib1Ref campaign is hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation and supported by the Wikipedia Library Team and Wikimedia Affiliates around the world. We also work closely with international and local library networks to promote the campaign. 

Therefore you are invited to join us online on Thursday 11 May 2023 at 12:30  to hear about the campaign and how you can get involved in adding citations, together with a demo on how to add a citation.  We will be joined by Bobby Shabangu, President of the WikimediaZA Chapter. 

The good news is that LIASA CPD points can be earned for your involvement by adding at least 25 citations/edits.  So, we will show you the dashboard that we are using to track edits by South African librarians.
