IGBIS CoP Webinar Invitation: Exploring WebDewey Number Building The LIASA Interest Group for Bibliographic Standards (IGBIS) Community of Practice (CoP) is pleased to invite you to a practical and insightful webinar on WebDewey Number Building, presented by experienced metadata librarian Miss Nohle Siboto. Join us as we explore the powerful number-building functionalities of WebDewey and their role in enriching the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system. This session will focus on how cataloguers and metadata professionals can use integrated tools such as “add instructions” to create detailed and accurate classification numbers for topics not fully captured in the standard schedules. The presentation will also highlight how WebDewey supports collaborative cataloguing, ensures consistency in metadata creation, and promotes discoverability in digital library environments. About the Speaker: Miss Nohle Siboto Miss Nohle Siboto is a seasoned metadata librarian with over 15 years of experience in the field. She currently serves as the Assistant Director: Metadata Librarian at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), where she leads metadata operations and oversees cataloguing standards. Her professional journey began as a Librarian: Cataloguer at the City of Cape Town, followed by roles as a Metadata Librarian at the University of the Western Cape and Stellenbosch University, where she gained extensive experience in academic and research library settings. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Knowledge and Information Systems, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Knowledge Management at Stellenbosch University, reflecting her strong commitment to continuous professional growth.
